We aim to foster a deeper comprehension of the effects of environmental changes and develop effective conservation strategies to protect the unique biodiversity in the North and other vulnerable regions
The issue.
Rapid environmental change is presenting significant challenges for biodiversity in the Arctic and beyond. The Arctic Ecology Lab is dedicated to addressing these pressing conservation issues through collaboration with local communities and organizations.
What we do.
Our work is centered at the interface of physiology, behavior, and ecology, allowing us to gain valuable insights into the impacts of environmental changes on wildlife. Specifically, we focus on seabirds (+ others!) and their responses to multiple stressors.
How we do it.
Using cutting-edge technology, we link individual movement and energetics with population trajectories. This approach helps us better understand how these species are currently responding to the changing environment and how they might adapt in the future.
